Orwigsburg Tire Store Employee Busted Selling Company Product
Here’s how the alleged theft went down and the employee got busted on Friday, May 15:
CJ’s Tire & Automotive, along Route 61 South in Orwigsburg, reported some missing tires from its inventory. The company believed it was an inside job.
So, ownership at CJ’s tracked a company vehicle with GPS technology. Someone with the company then followed Darker when he was supposed to be making tire deliveries.
Darker was making deliveries, the tracker found. Only, Darker was making deliveries to his own garage in Arnot’s Addition (New Castle Township). That’s where the CJ’s Tire tracked found Darker dropping off two new tires to his own garage.
The tire store tracker notified police of the incident and PSP showed up at Darker’s home. Police believe Darker stole a total of 6 tires over a brief period of time. He was allegedly selling the tires on his own and pocketing the cash.
Police recovered 2 stolen tires valued at $380.98.
Charges are expected to be filed against Darker in the near future.
