A Pottsville man tried to steal a cheap bottle of wine from the Giant supermarket last week.
According to State Police at Schuylkill Haven, Christopher Gravel, 39, walked in to the Giant just after 2 p.m. last Friday, March 27. Gravel allegedly grabbed a bottle of Arbor Mist.
He then tried to conceal the questionable wine selection in his jacket and walk out of the store with it. An employee at Giant spotted Gravel doing this and alerted the police.
Gravel is being charged with retail theft. The value of that bottle of Arbor Mist is somehow $11.99.

Police Investigating Possible New Philadelphia Robbery
State Police at Frackville are investigating a reported burglary at a New Philadelphia home during the afternoon hours of March 27.
According to police, the incident occurred on Wetherill Street in New Philly. That’s where a 40-year-old woman says someone broke into her home through the basement door.
There’s no report of any items stolen during this incident.
If anyone has information on this reported incident, they’re asked to call Trooper Michael Tomko at the Frackville barracks at 570-874-5300.
