A Schuylkill County senior citizen faces harassment charges after he thumped another with his walking cane.
According to State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the incident happened just after 8 p.m. Thursday.
That’s when 77-year-old Douglas Blain hit 88-year-old Erwin Vandecker in the back with his walking cane. The incident occurred at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, formerly the Rest Haven nursing home behind the Penn State-Schuylkill campus.
Police say Vandecker was not injured during the incident.

Police Investigating Alleged Burglary in West Brunswick Township
On Tuesday, State Police opened an investigation into a suspected robbery along Green Tree Drive in West Brunswick.
The victim of this alleged crime, 41-year-old Angela Craig, says she was out of town when burglars attempted to get into her house.
There are no reports of any missing items.
Amazon Package Swiped in Washington Township
An Amazon package containing a video camera was allegedly stolen from outside a residence in Washington Township Monday.
State Police at Schuylkill Haven report a 30-year-old man along Moyers Station Road says when he went to retrieve an Amazon package delivered by UPS, the package was gone.
The Canon XA11 is valued at about $1,000.
