State Police Charging 10-Year-Old for Punching Wall at Schuylkill IU School

State Police at Schuylkill Haven say a 10-year-old student at Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29 in Mar Lin is being charged with criminal mischief following an incident at the school last week.

According to information released by police, the 10-year-old girl from Mount Carmel punched two holes in drywall at the school. The incident happened just before 1 p.m. on Feb. 27.

The damaged drywall is valued at $250.

New Philly Woman Claims Nurse Stole ACCESS Card

State Police at Frackville are investigating a suspected theft in New Philadelphia.

Last week, a New Philadelphia woman claims her in-home nurse took her ACCESS card on Feb. 18 and hasn’t returned it since. The woman says she’s asked her nurse to return the card several times.

If true, the person who stole the card faces potential theft and welfare fraud charges.

Copper Wires Stolen from Home Under Construction

A man and woman from Frackville recently reported a robbery at a home under construction in Barry Township.

The unnamed victims say that multiple wires were cut from inside the residence on Sunbury Road.

State Police at Schuylkill Haven report the stolen copper wires are valued at $1,000. They have no leads at this time.

Subaru Clobbers Sign, Mailboxes in Washington Township

State Police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating an incident that happened on Feb. 24 along Dad Burnham’s Road in Washington Township.

They say the driver of a Subaru was going south on the rural road at about 8 p.m. The vehicle veered off the road and hit a road sign belonging to PennDOT as well as 3 mailboxes.

Parts of the vehicle were left at the scene but the drive left the scene. Police believe the parts belong to a Subaru.
