Police in Nesquehoning and surrounding communities are searching for two men who attacked another man with bleach Monday morning.
According to News 13, a maintenance manager at a strip mall in Nesquehoning, inside the old Lehigh Carbon Community College campus, was hit with fluorescent lights and then had bleach thrown at his eyes.
The Times-News describes the facility as the CVS Plaza on Locust Street in Nesquehoning.
Police were able to get a description of one of the alleged assailants:
- White male
- Gray beard
- Wearing Pittsburgh Steelers jacket
The search includes police from Nesquehoning, Jim Thorpe, Lansford, and a State Police helicopter.
The Panther Valley Elementary School nearby was under what they call a “white lockdown” until just after 2 p.m. School officials say students there will be dismissed on time with additional security in place.
Under a “white lockdown”, the following measures are taken for student safety:
- Classes continue, lunch served
- Students can’t move through building without adult escort
- Blinds are shut
- Visitors must have proper ID to enter school
- Indoor recess
It is not known in which direction the two suspects fled.
