Tonight is another full slate of District XI basketball semifinals. And 9 Schuylkill League teams are in action as they seek a spot in their respective championship games.
Here’s a quick look at tonight’s action:
District XI Class 1A Boys
Nativity and Tri-Valley are on a path to meet for a District XI championship. But first, they’ll need to take down their opponents tonight.
The Bulldogs face Notre Dame-East Stroudsburg in a 6 p.m. tip-off at Blue Mountain High School. Then, right after that, Nativity’s Hilltoppers take on Lincoln Leadership Academy with a spot in the finals on the line. These games were previously scheduled for Minersville but have been changed to BMHS.
District XI Class 3A Boys
In Class 3A, Panther Valley carries the Schuylkill League banner all alone in the semifinals. Tonight, they’ll take on top-seeded Palmerton in a 7:30 p.m. contest at Pleasant Valley HS.
District XI Class 2A Girls
Three of the four teams in tonight’s semifinals represent the Schuylkill League. So that means at least one team is guaranteed a spot in the finals.
In a 6 p.m. game at Martz Hall tonight, top seed Mahanoy Area takes on Marian Catholic. At 7 p.m. at NW Lehigh, in the other semifinal, Moravian Academy is taking on third-seeded Minersville.
District XI Class 4A
Tamaqua and Jim Thorpe battle it out to be the Schuylkill League entrant in the championship round. They’ll square off tonight at 7:30 at Martz Hall. In the other semifinal, Allentown Central Catholic and Bethlehem Catholic tangle.
District XI Class 5A
And Blue Mountain travels to Shamokin at 7 p.m. tonight for a Class 5A semifinal matchup against Shikellamy.
