Kobe at Martz Hall in 1996
Loyal fans of the team and a huge local crowd filled Martz Hall on the afternoon of March 16, 1996 to check out the kid who’d become arguably the greatest basketball player in NBA history.
They didn’t leave disappointed that day, either. Kobe went off for 36 points as the Aces moved past Stroudsburg. They’d eventually become PIAA Class 4A champions, the only state championship in Kobe’s time at Lower Merion High School.
