Leah Heckman, 94 formerly of Ashland, passed away Monday, January 6, 2020 at St. John’s Specialty Care Center in the Village of Mars, PA.
Born in Ashland on Sept. 1, 1925, the daughter of the late William and Alma (Leverentz) Eisinger.
She graduated from Ashland High School and worked at the Ashland State General Hospital as a Medical Secretary.
She was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Ashland, PA. Leah was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ashland Chapter.
Preceding her in death was her husband Benjamin W. Heckman in 2004. She also was preceded in death by a sister Helen Enterline.
Surviving is a daughter Christine Buchwald of Cranberry Twp., PA. Two grandchildren: Matthew, husband of Amy Buchwald and Sarah Buchwald. 1 Great Granddaughter: Nadia Buchwald. Nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 10, 2020 at Noon from the Bethany Evangelical Congretational Church, 13th & Market St., Ashland, PA. Visitation time from 11 a.m. until time of Service. Rev. Dennis Snyder officiating.
Interment in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
