Robert J. Heim, 55, of Melanie Manor, Ringtown, passed away unexpectedly while a guest at the Schuylkill Center in Pottsville on Saturday, January 4, 2020.
Robert was born in Philadelphia, on May 12, 1964, a son of the late Joan (Ryan) Heim and John Thompson.
Bob last worked as an ambulance driver for Regional EMS. Prior to that, he worked as a truck driver and a tow truck owner/operator in the Philadelphia area.
He was a member of the Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue Company, a former Lieutenant of the Ringtown Fire Police and later an assistant engineer with the fire company.
Bob was a member of the Oregon New Years Association Mummers Parade “Witch Brigade”. He was also a die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Bob enjoyed the spending time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing,
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Joanie and a brother George.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Basham, whom he married in 2009, and by his two children, daughter Lisa Heim, fiancee of Frank, of Ringtown and his son Robert ‘Bubba’ Heim, of Ringtown. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Chase, Jaiden, Julian, Giovanni, Michael, Serenity and Brianna.
A sister in-law, Stacy, wife of Jeff Kerschner of Virginia and a brother in-law, Eric Basham, and his wife Robin of Maryland also survive, along with nieces and nephews, Austin, Madison, Carissa, Peter Jr., and Anthony.
He will also be missed by a goddaughter Paige and his in-laws, Rolland and Bernadette Basham of Florida.
Bob is also survived by many close friends whom he considered family,and by his extended family,
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date which will be announced.
