A couple weeks ago, we reported on the Great Chicken Sandwich War. We said we were glad to sit this one out.
Well, last week, someone got stabbed to death at a Popeye’s. So, just like the heroin and fentanyl, there’s another thing that can stay in Hazleton.
But we needed a Chick-Fil-A back in the worst way.
And just like everything else, we get the opposite. Our Chick-Fil-A actually CLOSED years ago (proving that it’s possible for one of those places to go out of business). And then a few years ago, we got a NEW fried chicken place in town …
Well, that’s been closed for a little bit now. Can’t say we miss it.
We really just needed a short story to introduce that meme (above) and talk about the biggest thing on the internet this week that’s not a Coroner’s election race.
Table Cat Meme
The table cat meme is everywhere right now.
Remember this one from 16 hours ago?
Earlier this week, the publisher of Shenandoah Sentinel found an instant classic …
But get this … the OP (original poster) is from Shenandoah, Virginia. So, the great debate on how to say “Shanadore” isn’t exclusive to Schuylkill County. So weird.
And it’s Shendo, for the record.
How about this for another unforgettable business name? Again, from the Sentinel …
And this from ones we can’t say right either …
But wait, there’s more.
We’re getting a lot of mileage out of that Coney visit the other day.
But we wanted to wrap this up by talking about another war. Just as we put the chicken sammich skirmish to bed, another conflict is in the offing. And this is one we can’t avoid. It’s right on our doorstep.
It’s the Schuylkill County Newsroom War. And believe us, we’re doing our best to stay out of this one.
A few non-mainstream media sites out there this week claimed someone else made a meme comparing their site to another’s.
First (we think), is the Skook News saying someone made this for them:
Then, the Sentinel got one in their inbox:
That’s a North of the Mountain thing right there.
But on Saturday morning, we heard from our friend and Coalspeaker.com and he decided to add his own flavor …
OK, we couldn’t stay out of it …
