Do You Own a MAGA Hat? And Are You Afraid to Wear It? – Answer Our Poll Questions

Do you own a MAGA hat?

Even if you don’t, would you be afraid to wear one in public?

We’ve got two poll questions open right now that ask these very things. Simply give us your response to these two questions.

Of course, we’re not holding you back on telling us what you think about the red MAGA hat in our Comments below.

Do You Own a MAGA Hat?

Here’s the first poll question:

[poll id=8063]

This is a question we think we know how the results will go, especially here in Schuylkill County. We see enough of them to know they’re out there. But at the same time, we know people don’t generally wear political clothing. It’s hard enough getting someone to wear a pin or ribbon or put up a yard sign in favor of a candidate these days.

But then again, maybe that says something about the candidate(s), right?

Whether locally or nationally, there’s no duplicate for Donald Trump. And there hasn’t been a political movement like his. Plus, none of the other campaigns had a trademark hat.

It took forever for Hillary to even come up with a campaign slogan. And you probably couldn’t think of it off the top of your head if thought about it right now.

So, regardless of the popularity of Trump’s political movement, we still think this number is going to be relatively low.

That is not what we fear with the next question:

Are You Afraid to Wear a MAGA Hat?

Imagine living in a world where you’re afraid to wear a hat.

That’s what happens when blanket statements that go unchecked about the people wearing those hats.

The red MAGA hat is being compared to a KKK hood. Things said about people choosing to wear these hats are truly absurd and often, sub-human. You’ve heard it all.

So, tell us … Are you afraid to wear a MAGA hat?

[poll id=8065]

Afraid of a hat? What could make someone resent the sight of a hat so much?

It even has one person apparently worthy of a blue check on Twitter so triggered, she can’t even look at red hats the same way.

Someone called Rebecca Makkai tweeted this nonsensical thread recently:

Are there racists and “white nationalists” that wear red MAGA hats? Yes. We’re not naive.

Are there racists and “white nationalists” who voted for Hillary and would never wear a MAGA hat? Absolutely, yes, too.

That’s not what the red MAGA hat stands for. They know it. You know it. So, why the fuss over a hat?

They have a reason for doing this.

The hat is a symbol, yes. But it’s not a symbol for what they say it symbolizes.

The goal is to isolate you in your beliefs.

You see one of these hats in the crowd and you voted Trump, you know there’s another person out there who “gets it” as it were.

The less you see these hats around, the more likely it is that you believe you’re increasingly alone in your thinking. So, the goal is to paint these hats as evil.

And unfortunately, this reckless characterization of people wearing red MAGA hats results in serious injuries.

Check out this video from last year on the show “What Would You Do?”

It’s so confusing to see ABC produce a segment like this and get a real earful from actual Americans in a state (New Jersey) that likely could go red in the next election. And at the same time, ABC News World News Tonight is one of the more biased and misleading nightly network broadcasts on TV.

This may make you believe that there is a growing silent majority of Americans who think Trump is doing a good job but realize there’s still an active campaign afoot to make you think that’s wrong.

So, you have the potential threat of physical violence for wearing the red MAGA hat in public. But then also the threat of psychological shame from others who think you’re a bigot or just plain crazy.

And think of how “crazy” that is to think, especially here in Schuylkill County. In a sense, you couldn’t be more among “friends” in the voting sense. In 2016, it’s hard to find a county that voted for Obama who swung so quickly in 2016 and voted so heavily for Trump.

Trump got 69.4% of the vote here. Hillary only got 26.5%. So, would you really fear that small of a segment of the population?

Addressing the Yeah-buts …

There are people who will ask, yeah but don’t you think Trump supporters would attack, say, Bernie Sanders supporters if he were to beat Trump in 2020? Or Elizabeth Warren?

Somehow we don’t think it’s going to be the same when that one day comes when people vote a Democrat back into office … just as soon as they get back from the Commie convention.

I voted for Trump because there wasn’t an option and I will vote for him again for the same reason. Democratic party abandoned the white middle class and they will pay for it come election time. I think you are looking for trouble wearing the MAGA hat because of all the sensitive snowflakes out there.

I would take that hat off of your head if I saw you wearing it.
