In honor of the first week of school in Schuylkill County (despite how we feel about it) — we put up a curve-friendly record of 9-4 in Week 1 of our Canary Picks high school football predictions. That’s almost 70%.
Not showing off. And we’re not falling behind. Right there in the meaty part of the curve.
Week 2 Picks
So, we’re ready to go with another week.
Learning Our Lesson
We slipped up by not believing in Blue Mountain over Muhlenberg. So in our Week 2 picks, we’re backing the Eagles over Midd-West.
Speaking of Midd-West, it topped the Colts of Marian Catholic last week, another sore spot from our week 1 picks.
Marian’s got another tough test this week when it faces Jim Thorpe. The Olympians barely escaped a test with Schuylkill Haven last week but we still like them over Marian this week.
Win and You’re Back In
These teams tripped us up last week so they’re going to need to crack into the win column to win us over.
The Panthers at Panther Valley came up just short in a Saturday game against CMVT. And this week, they have a battle with Hamburg. We’re picking our neighbors to the south in this one.
And finally, we are picking Schuylkill Haven over the fourth team we picked last week that let us down, Lehighton.
Lehighton took one on the chin against Fleetwood and we think the Hurricanes are ready to let out some frustration over last week’s close loss to Jim Thorpe. We’ve got Haven in this don’t-call-it-a-Schuylkill-League matchup.
