President Trump didn’t hide his feelings on the city of Baltimore Saturday.
In a morning tweet storm, Trump singled out Rep. Elijiah Cummings, who represents Maryland’s 7th district, primarily situated in Baltimore.
Trump wrote this at 7:14 a.m. Saturday:
“Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA. As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.
“Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!”
You can predict the response he got. Since Rep. Cummings is black, the tweets got labeled racist before he hit Send.
Baltimore is a Hellhole
In addition to the accusations of racism, some people stepped up their delusion and started painting Baltimore as something it isn’t.
Of course, anyone who reads something like that about their hometown will get upset.
But just because it makes you angry, doesn’t mean it’s untrue.
You can do any search for Baltimore crime or Baltimore poverty and you’re going to see a city facing REALLY hard times. It’s definitely not the Baltimore you see if you go see an Orioles game or visit Inner Harbor.
Responding to Trump’s tweets, Twitter started promoting a #WeAreBaltimore hashtag campaign, putting it among the top trending topics in the US on Saturday night.
But again, is this what you are if you are Baltimore?
Check out this tweet from Baltimore Republican Kimberly Klacik.
More trash. More concerned residents. People live in the home with the silver van. This is @RepCummings district. This has nothing to do with race. Let us all pray the city removes the trash & install cameras to catch the individuals dumping on the property. #WestBaltimore pic.twitter.com/CCaRH5c0aO

Clearly, it shows a Baltimore that’s more like the one in Trump’s early morning tweets.
So, yeah it hurts to hear it, but that doesn’t make it wrong.
What if Trump Said That About Pottsville?
Now, it’s unlikely Trump would turn on pro-MAGA Rep. Dan Meuser, who represents Schuylkill County in Pennsylvania’s 9th District.
Trump went after Cummings because Cummings scolded a border official during a hearing last week regarding conditions at detention centers.
But even without the need for prompting from a nagging Democrat, let’s say Trump wakes up one morning and decides to lay into Pottsville and its current state.
And let’s just assume the President doesn’t bring up the new Peacock Street Dog Park. Instead, Trump focuses on the crumbling infrastructure, lack of jobs and economy, rampant drug abuse, and corrupt politicians.
Would you be mad at the President or would you agree with him?
