State Champs Pine Grove Finish Among National Top 25 Softball Teams

Pine Grove’s Lady Cardinals state championship softball team collected another honor this week.

On Monday, MaxPreps rankings Xcellent 25 named Pine Grove to the final National Top 25 high school softball rankings. The Cardinals finished #19 in the poll and get featured as a Newcomer to the ranks in this MaxPreps video alongside the Top 5 teams in the country.

Pine Grove capped off a masterful 2019 season by winning the PIAA Class 3A softball championship last week. The Lady Cards topped Bald Eagle Area in a 7-3 comeback win at Penn State University. Pine Grove finished the season with an unblemished 28-0 record.

It was outside the Top 25 prior to this week’s rankings being released.
