Yeah, you read that right. Pine Grove scored 20 runs — and needed more than half of them — to defeat Notre Dame-Green Pond on Friday, 20-10 in a District 11 Class 3A softball semifinal.
NDGP scored 4 runs in the top of the 4th to take a 10-7 lead on the Schuylkill League champs.
After managing to hold Notre Dame in the top of the 5th, Pine Grove erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the 5th to take a 17-10 lead. They added a field goal down to the stretch to hold on for the victory.
Not an easy game to explain, Cards score 10 in the bottom of the 5th, now lead 17-10.
