Coal Region Canary at the Pottsville
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
on March 16, 2019.
Pottsville’s strong Irish heritage was on full display Saturday morning for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade through the downtown.
Grand Marshal of the festivities was Judge Jim Goodman.
It’s about 30 degrees colder than the day before and that may have kept some of the crowds down but a few hundred still lined the streets for Saturday’s festivities.
The parade, of course, is a precursor to a day of festivities centered around the holiday.
It culminated at Humane Fire Co. on Third St. for the Grand Irish Party 2019. There are events all over the city and county this weekend to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Our choice would be at 5 p.m. at Good Intent Fire Co. for the St. Patrick’s Day “Mixxer” featuring local music legends, Mixx.
