Schuylkill County Man Allegedly Hit Woman with Case of Rolling Rock, Wooden Food Tray

Wagner held on 10% of $10K bail

A Schuylkill County man was jailed over the weeked, accused of hitting a woman with a case of beer and a wooden food tray, as well as dumping water on her.

State Police say they responded to a report of domestic violence at a residence on Cherry St. in Ryan Township at about 10:30 p.m. on Friday. At the scene, police say they found a woman standing outside with a bleeding right ear.

The woman told police she and her husband, Perry Wagner, 60, got into an argument after dinner. She said Wagner began destroying the inside of the home by overturning and breaking household objects, police say. The woman told police the argument turned physical when Wagner dumped a bucket of water over her head, hit her on top of the head with a case of Rolling Rock glass beer bottles, and struck the side of her head with a wooden food tray.

Wagner, who was inside the residence, allegedly admitted to arguing with the woman but denied getting physical with her.

While inside the home, police say they saw a smashed glass front door window and multiple broken and overturned items in the kitchen and living room. Police also observed a case of smashed Rolling Rock bottles on the living room floor.

Wagner was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli and sent to Schuylkill County Prison on 10% of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 13.
