A bridge repair project may restrict the flow of traffic at a very busy intersection in central Schuylkill County until later this year.
PennDOT is repairing the bridge over Schuylkill RIver at the intersection of Routes 61 and 183 in North Manheim Township, near Cressona Mall and the Bedway shopping plaza. The work is part of the NEPA MPO Bridge Preservation Repair Project, according to PennDOT District 5 Safety Press Officer Sean Brown.
Work is expected to continue into late-October but Brown says motorists shouldn’t experience too many delays as construction crews are doing their best to minimize traffic impacts. No full bridge closures are expected for the duration of the project.
Repairs to the bridge should be completed with off-peak hour lane restrictions with flagging and lane shifting possible at any time.

Dad Burnhams Rd.
Drainage work is scheduled to begin on Dad Burnhams Rd. in Washington Township, between Routes 895 and 443, on Monday.
Lane restrictions are expected and that could cause delays for motorists. Work is expected to continue through Friday.
