A man already facing charges related to an alleged burglary incident in Mechanicsville, outside Pottsville, late last year, is now facing new burglary charges on a second suspected incident that happened the same day.
Police in Pottsville just filed charges against Ali Brown-Bailey, 23, of Aliquippa, for his suspected role in an incident on the city’s East Side on the same day as the other incident.
On Dec. 6, shortly after 5 p.m., police were called to an apartment building in the 100 block of N. George St. for a reported burglary.
At the scene, police say they saw the front door of an apartment that appeared to be kicked open.
The apartment tenant’s boyfriend was inside the residence at the time police arrived at the scene. He said he had been assaulted during the break-in and police say he had a bloody lip.
A witness at the apartment building at the time of the reported incident told police that he saw three men walking south on N. George St. at the time of the reported burglary.
That witness said one of the suspects was wearing a ski mas and another man had his face covered with a mask as they approached the steps of the apartment building.
Police say they learned through their investigation that as the men entered the building, they were heard yelling, “WHERE’S MY WEED?!”
Further, police say they believe two of the three suspects participated in kicking in the door. One of the suspects has been identified as Brown-Bailey.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Brown-Bailey is also one of five suspects in a reported burglary in Mechanicsville on the same day.
In that incident, Brown-Bailey and four others are accused of ransacking an apartment and stealing $250 in cash and a pair of Meta-branded smart glasses. Two TVs were also reportedly destroyed.
After fleeing the area to his hometown in Beaver County, police were able to apprehend him and bring him back to Schuylkill County to face charges on the first burglary.
Brown-Bailey eventually posted $15,000 bail and was released from Schuylkill County Prison.
He’s now facing new felony charges of burglary and criminal trespass as well as a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief.
