Schuylkill County Man Found in Abandoned Vehicle with Gun

Drumheller says he was sleeping in vehicle

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Sunday afternoon after police say they found him inside an abandoned vehicle with a gun he isn’t permitted to possess.

State Police say they were dispatched to a wooded area west of Route 924, north of Furnace Rd. in Shenandoah on Sunday morning for a report of an abandoned vehicle.

At the scene, police say they found a 2008 Subaru Outback and inside was Joshua Drumheller, 44. Drumheller reportedly told police that he’s homeless and sleeping in the vehicle.

Police say they learned through an investigation that Drumheller had an active warrant from Schuylkill County Adult Probation from June.

Drumheller was also allegedly found in possession of a Strum-Ruger .22-calber pistol holding eight bullets at the time.

A check of Drumheller’s criminal history revealed that he’d been previously convicted of felony criminal trespass and criminal mischief and is not permitted to possess a firearm, police say.

Drumheller was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker on Sunday afternoon and charged with a felony count of prohibited possession of a firearm. Kilker set bail at $15,000 and Drumheller was remanded to Schuylkill County Prison.
