Darkwater Rd. will be closed to traffic this weekend, PennDOT has announced.
The road was closed at 10 p.m. Friday and is expected to reopen at 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10.
A detour around the road closure will take traffic on Peach Mountain and Wade Rds.
The closure is due to work occurring at the intersection of Darkwater Rd. and Route 61. That work is part of the much larger, ongoing Route 61 road reconstruction project that isn’t expected to be completed until early 2029.
PennDOT urges motorists to allow for extra time this weekend and to exercise caution when when traveling through that area.
