A Pottsville man already facing charges related to an alleged sexual assault of a minor is now facing new charges after a second victim has come forward.
Raymond Hall, 56, was arraigned Tuesday morning before Magisterial District Judge James Reiley in Pottsville. The charges against Hall come after a three-month investigation by Pottsville Police Capt. Joseph Welsh that began in July.
Police were contacted in July by a now-adult female sexually assaulted by Hall at four different locations in the city when she was a juvenile. The alleged assaults occurred over a several year period, police say.
Attacks on this second victim allegedly happened at two apartments in the 800 block of N. Second St. in Pottsville, a garage in the 500 block of N. Centre St., and another garage on Peacock St.
This morning, Hall was charged with 30 felony offenses, including four each for rape, rape of a person less than 13, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 13, and aggravated indecent assault of a person less than 16, as well as two felony counts of aggravated indecent assault of a person les than 13. He’s also facing numerous other misdemeanor offenses, for a total of 46 charges in all.
Reiley set bail at $100,000 and Hall was sent back to Schuylkill County Prison.
In July, Hall was charged with similar offenses for his alleged actions against another minor. Those acts allegedly occurred at his home in Pottsville as well as an auto body shop in Palo Alto. Charges in that case were held over for Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas after a preliminary hearing this summer.
Police in Pottsville continue to ask for any other potential victims of Hall’s to come forward. Victims are encouraged to contact Welsh at 570-622-1234, x1350.
