Schuylkill County Woman Allegedly Bit, Kicked Woman During Scuffle

A Schuylkill County woman is facing charges following an incident last weekend in which she allegedly bit and kicked a woman.

Police in Tamaqua say they were called to reported disturbance on Hunter St. at about 1 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27.

At the scene, police say they spoke with one of two victims and the accused involved in this incident. Police say a male victim and Hannah Winter, 21, of Tamaqua, told them they’d been drinking and were arguing and decided to take a walk.

As they exited the home on Hunter St., Winter grabbed the male victim, causing his shirt to rip and scratching his back. A woman got involved, trying to get Winter off the male. That’s when Winter allegedly bit the woman on her hand, causing a laceration injury.

Winter then allegedly kicked the woman numerous times, police say.

The female victim was treated at the scene by EMS personnel.

Winter has been charged with simple assault and harassment. She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
