A Schuylkill County man is accused of punching a woman he believed was pregnant and then holding her against her will.
Police in Minersville say they received a complaint from the victim of this alleged assault who said Dakota Zakashefski, 23, attacked her when she went to his house to talk to him back on June 3.
While there, the victim claims Zakashefski began accusing her of being pregnant and then began punching her in the abdomen, pulling her hair, and shoving her.
During the attack, Zakashefski allegedly said he hoped his assault would kill the baby he claimed the victim was carrying.
Zakashefski then blocked the door to his residence, not allowing the victim to leave, she said. After an hour as the assault continued, Zakashefski then unlocked the door and pulled the victim by her hair to his bedroom, where he continued his assault, the victim told police.
As he pinned the victim down by her wrists, Zakashefski allegedly threatened to sexually assault the woman.
The victim told police that she was yelling and screaming as someone began knocking at Zakashefski’s door on the day of the alleged attack.
Police say the victim has submitted medical records detailing the injuries she suffered as a result of this alleged incident.
Last week, police filed two misdemeanor counts of simple assault and one count of false imprisonment against Zakashefski as well as two summary counts of harassment.
He’s been ordered to answer to these charges before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko on Oct. 21.
