An unseasonably warm day is ahead of us here in Schuylkill County but it’s ahead of a cold front, so with that comes the threat of thunderstorms.
National Weather Service says some of the storms could be of the strong to severe variety. Any storms we see here would happen in the late-afternoon or early-evening hours, with isolated damaging winds being the biggest threat from them.
The highest threat of severe storms is actually south of Schuylkill County today.
The air behind these storms will be noticeably cooler with high temperatures about 25 degrees less than today.

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 69. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Low around 37. Light north wind. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday: Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 46. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.
Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 47.
Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 53.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.
Thursday: A chance of showers after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Thursday Night: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Friday: A chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 46.
