Police say a Schuylkill County woman stole a wheel and tire from a vehicle parked on a street in Mahanoy City earlier this month.
Brooke Davis, 30, of Mahanoy City, is accused of taking the items from underneath a 2006 Pontiac Coupe parked between Market and Pine streets shortly before 9 a.m. on March 8. Her ex-boyfriend, who had possession of the vehicle and was fixing it for a friend, reported the theft to police.
The man told police he saw Davis remove the wheel and tire that were laying under the vehicle and roll them north on S. C St. toward her residence at 603 W. Centre St. He provided police with a video he shot from his home reportedly showing Davis taking the items.
Police say they went to Davis’s residence but no one answered the door. The man later told police that Davis texted him to ask if he had contacted them. At the instruction of police, the man attempted to call Davis, but she did not answer. Police say they also tried calling Davis from the station, but she did not answer the phone.
Davis has been charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and receiving stolen property. She’ll have to answer those charges at a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 9 at District Court in Shenandoah.
