Attempted Homicide Suspect Allegedly Threw Her Pee During Prison Intake

The Schuylkill County woman accused of attempted homicide after allegedly shooting a man in the arm earlier this week is facing new charges after reportedly throwing pee at staff at the local prison.

Police in Pottsville say Alycia Yost, 36, of Barnesville, was going through her medical intake at Schuylkill County Prison on Wednesday. Part of that process includes peeing into a cup, which was observed by a female Corrections Officer.

Yost then allegedly refused to set the pee cup down or hand it over to authorities at the prison. Instead, she reportedly threw her urine, hitting three people, one in the face, one on the side of their body, and another on their stomach area, police say.

After being secured and placed in a cell, Yost reportedly admitted to wanting to throw her pee on Corrections Officers. She’s now facing a felony charge of aggravated harassment by a prisoner and three summary counts of harassment.

At about 4 a.m. Wednesday, State Police were called to a home on Codorus Rd. in Ryan Township after a 9-1-1 hang-up call. A man on the line during that call reportedly told dispatchers, “She shot me in the arm and she won’t give me the gun back.”

As Troopers arrived on the scene, the man who’d reported being shot ran from the home and was rushed to a hospital. Yost, however, holed up inside the home, prompting a State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) to be activated.

Following a standoff with police, Yost eventually surrendered and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. For that incident, she’s facing charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault with extreme indifference, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, reckless endangerment, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
