A Wind Advisory is in effect for Schuylkill County from 1 a.m. Friday until 1 a.m. Saturday.
Forecasters believe sustained wind speeds of between 15-25 mph are likely. Gusts to 50 mph are also possible.
Winds will be strong enough to blow away any loose Christmas decorations and other unsecured objects. The strong winds could also bring down tree limbs and cause a few power outages.
Friday will be a bit of a strange weather day overall, in addition to the wind.
Rain is expected to continue until about 3 p.m., followed by a chance of snow showers later in the afternoon. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
About an inch or more of rain is expected to fall between Thursday night and Friday afternoon.
Friday’s high temperature in Schuylkill County could hit the low-50s. But that’ll likely happen at 8 a.m. Temps will plummet the rest of the day, bottoming out to a low of about 23 at night.
