Schuylkill County Woman Allegedly Threatened Roommates with Knife; Claimed They Were Making Adult Entertainment in Her Room

Knight arraigned on felony charges

A Schuylkill County woman is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly threatening two roommates with a knife after making some bizarre claims about people breaking into her room.

Police in Tamaqua say they were called to a home on N. Railroad St. in the borough at about 7:15 p.m. on Nov. 27 for a reported threat.

Upon their arrival, police say they learned that the primary suspect – identified as Kimberly Knight, 54, of Tamaqua – had been having “severe hallucinations” recently. The day before this incident, police say Knight was trying to show them a video in which people broke into her room to make adult entertainment and then sexually assaulted her cats.

There was no video, police say.

Knight then tried showing a neighbor the same video, that police say does not exist, and reportedly said she was going to go to her apartment and stab her roommates because they broke into her room.

At that point, Knight became upset and reportedly grabbed a 12-inch knife and went to her apartment to confront her roommates.

With the roommates cornered in the kitchen, Knight allegedly went at both of them aggressively, waving the knife and yelling at them for going into her room.

Police say one of the roommates was able to escape to a stairway but another remained trapped in the kitchen. Knight allegedly had the knife just inches from the roommate’s face. She then poked him in the chest with the knife.

The entire time, the roommates were trying to reassure Knight that they did not go into her room. She reportedly said over and over, “You’re (bleeping) lucky.”

Knight then calmed down and left the apartment.

Police have charged Knight with felony counts of attempted aggravated assault, and making terroristic threats along with misdemeanor offenses of simple assault and harassment.

She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer on Dec. 12 and released on $25,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled in Tamaqua for Jan. 27, 2026.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this article indicated both roommates were men. One was a man and the other, a woman.
