A Schuylkill County woman was jailed over the weekend on drunk and disorderly charges.
Police in Minersville say they were called to the Hi-Rise building at 300 Lewis St. on Saturday afternoon for a report of an intoxicated person.
When police arrived, they spoke with eight residents who all identified Lori Sleva, 44, as the culprit. Sleva, they told police, was screaming in the lobby, hitting the walls, floor and windows of the building.
Residents say they told Sleva multiple times to cut it out, to stop damaging the building, and get back in her room.
Sleva persisted, they say, and continued her disorderly behavior for another half-hour.
Police say they made contact with Sleva, who was clearly intoxicated at the time. Sleva was told she was being placed under arrest and she began protesting and speaking incoherently, police say.
Charges of misdemeanor disorderly conduct and summary offenses of public drunkenness and harassment were filed against Sleva. She was arraigned Saturday before Magisterial District Judge AJ Serina, who set bail at $1,000 and remanded her to Schuylkill County Prison.
Court records show that similar charges – all summary offenses – were filed against Sleva on Oct. 22.
