Three people from Schuylkill County have been charged by the state’s Inspector General for failing to report household income and receiving public assistance benefits.
According to charging documents filed in District Court in Pottsville, those charged received either SNAP or Medicaid benefits overpayments. They’ve each been charged with fraudulently obtaining foodstamps/assistance, which is a third-degree felony.
Those charged include Bobbi Jo Whitenight, 50, of Pottsville; Moriah Turner, 36, of New Ringgold; and Shaina Grogan, 26, of Ringtown.
The Inspector General’s Offices says Whitenight failed to accurately report her income from between Oct. 1, 2024, and Feb. 28, 2025, and received a Medicaid benefits overpayment of $4,328.26 in that time.
Grogan is accused of failing to accurately report household income from Sept. 1, 2022, through Feb. 28, 2023, and received a SNAP benefits overpayment of $2,130.
Turner allegedly failed to report income from May 2 through Sept. 30 and received overpayment of $1,437 in SNAP benefits, the IG’s Office says.

Hey,how about don’t drop peoples names if they haven’t been charged guilty with anything. So disappointing, actually DISGUSTING and inappropriate.

Hey, we use the terms “allegedly” and “reportedly” and indicate that authorities are the ones making the charges, not us. We aren’t stating anything as fact in this article other than the verifiable fact that charges were filed and allegations were made.
