State Police are investigating the theft of thousands of dollars worth of copper wiring from a pair of communications towers, including one owned by Schuylkill County government.
Police say that on Oct. 10, Troopers were called to Tower Rd. in Tremont Township. At the scene, they discovered that two tower sites were broken into and copper wire was cut and removed.
One of the towers is owned by American Tower Corp., of Boston. The other serves the Schuylkill County 9-1-1 center. The towers are adjacent to each other.
Approximately $4,000 worth of copper wiring was stolen, police say.
