Schuylkill County Man Facing 2 Chester County Cases Arrested Following Domestic Incident in Pottsville

Frazier facing charges in three other cases

A Schuylkill County man already facing two criminal cases from Chester County was jailed over the weekend on domestic violence charges in Pottsville.

Police say they were called to the 500 block of N. Centre St. shortly after 1 a.m. Monday for a reported domestic altercation.

At the scene, police report seeing a man – identified as Shafeek Frazier, 31, of Pottsville – and woman arguing outside of a building. They say neither was compliant during the investigation, ignoring police commands.

The victim of this alleged incident reportedly told police that she and Frazier had gotten into an argument about phone messages. That’s when the argument turned physical, she said.

Frazier then allegedly punched the victim in the face and then picked her up and slammed her to the ground. The victim suffered injuries, including a lump on her forehead.

In this case, Frazier is facing charges of simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned Monday morning before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko and held on $25,000 cash bail.

Frazier is also facing trial on two separate cases that originated out of Chester County but were recently transferred to Schuylkill County, according to court records.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and strangulation in connection with a July 2022 incident in Uwchian Township. Frazier is also facing trial in another cases that originated out of Cain Township. He faces charges of terroristic threats and harassment in that.
