Organizers believe about 250 gathered on Garfield Square in Pottsville Saturday afternoon for the latest No Kings protest against President Donald Trump.
Demonstrators gathered on either side of the soldiers memorial monuments in the center of the city, many holding signs and chanting, expressing their displeasure with the President.
A small group of counter-protestors were also on hand, constantly walking around Garfield Square armed with a cardboard cutout of Trump, and American flag, and a bullhorn.
As motorists passed the demonstration, some honked their horn in support while others let the protestors know how they didn’t support their message.
“I’m here today because we have a President who is actively attacking what we were founded upon,” Elijah LoPinto, of Mahanoy City, said while dressed in an Uncle Sam costume. “The First, Second, Fourth, and Fifth Amendment rights are under attack by this administration and I feel that we need to make a visible sign of standing up against his actions.”
Carol Ward, of Pine Grove, said the reason she attended Saturday’s protest in Pottsville was thanks to an online medium she follows.
“I listen to a medium online and she said that her mission was to encourage people to get out. That’s the reason we’re here now,” Ward said. “We’ve been incarnated into the world at this time, at this place, and we need to protest and protect America.”
Evan Evans, of Lake Hauto, said one of the reasons he came to Pottsville to attend the No Kings protest is because Trump is sending National Guard units into bigger cities to restore order.
“I came out to protest what’s going on in the country with the dictatorship. I don’t like troops going into the cities,” Evans said.
He added that he believes Trump is trying to make the State Dept. and Defense Dept. “weapons for him.”
Saturday’s turnout of about 250 people encouraged Todd Zimmerman, chairman of the Schuylkill County Democratic Committee. He called the demonstrators at the Pottsville No Kings protest “very energetic.”
“It shows growth,” Zimmerman said of the crowd size compared to the first No Kings protest held over the summer in Saint Clair. “It seems even more people are motivated and what I’m happy about is that this going to give us momentum into 2026 when (Gov. Josh) Shapiro is up for re-election. I’m very optimistic on 2026, that we’re going to get a lot of young energy.”

A couple dozen idiots who probably don’t work or are on SSI protest something that doesn’t exist in America, a King. They prove how dumb they really are. Sore losers because America had enough of their looney left wing nonsense (boys in girls bathrooms, illegals pillaging our communities with crime, giving money to illegals instead of Americans.

To prove the lies, the idiot from Mahanoy City says in an interview about the 2nd amendment being under attack. Are you kidding me? President Trump has been the most pro 2nd amendment Prez ever. Another example of the lies Dems spew. In fact, all they do is lie.
