A Schuylkill County man is facing charges after he allegedly went on a profanity-laced, seemingly incoherent tirade harassing his neighbor about dog poop.
Police in Saint Clair say they were dispatched to the 300 block of Cherry St. at about 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 1. A 9-1-1 caller said that her neighbor, Lee Fidler, 56, was threatening to kill her dog and smear feces on her.
En route to the address, police were notified by 9-1-1 dispatchers that the caller was now reporting that things were hitting her window and that Fidler was outside yelling profanities.
When police got to the scene, they say pieces of a broken vacuum and a smashed stereo were outside a home. Police say they spoke with the victim of this incident who said that she’d called at about 11 a.m. because Fidler was outside her home screaming and causing a public disturbance.
Fidler allegedly became irate and yelled about dog feces and threatened to smear it on the victim’s face. He also allegedly threatened to kill the victim’s dogs and punt them.
At 3:30 p.m., the victim reported that something was hitting her window and Fidler was outside yelling “(bleeping) c***!” He reportedly continued to scream, “c*** (bleeping) dogs!”
When she looked outside, the victim told police that Fidler was there and accusing her of smearing dog feces in his vacuum, in his home, and in his speaker.
Police say they approached Fidler about these accusations and he began screaming. An odor of alcohol was clearly evident from Fidler’s breath and his person, police say.
Eventually, police say Fidler admitted to smashing the vacuum.
Fidler has been charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, and harassment.
