A Schuylkill County woman is facing new charges after her neighbors told police that she was recently banging on a wall shared with their home all night long.
Police in Saint Clair say they were called to a home in the 100 block of S. Mill St. in the borough shortly before 11 a.m. on Sept. 27. There, police say neighbors of Judith Hulet, 64, told them that she had banging on a wall that is shared with their residence all night and into that morning.
The neighbors told police this is an ongoing issue with Hulet. In fact, The Canary reported on one such alleged incident back in March when police responded to the same address five times in just a couple weeks for similar complaints. (Read that story here.)
Police say as they were gathering statements from Hulet’s neighbors during this most recent incident, they could clearly hear banging on the wall between the two homes.
An attempt to contact Hulet was made, police say. After knocking on the front door several times, police say Hulet opened a front window and spoke through the window.
When asked why she was banging on the wall, Hulet denied doing it but reportedly said, “I’m hanging … I’m hammering nail tacks into my carpet. Hulet also denied doing that since 11 the previous night.
Instead, she reportedly told police that she was peeling wallpaper off her walls.
Police have filed a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and two summary counts of harassment. Hulet has been ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 28.
