A truck driver from New Jersey was seriously injured in a crash in Schuylkill County on Friday morning.
According to State Police-Schuylkill Haven, the crash happened along Gold Mine Rd., Tremont Twp., just after 9:30 a.m. on July 5.
Police say a truck driven by Rene Fernandez-Rivera, 46, of New Brunswick, NJ, was heading north on Gold Mine Rd. at a high rate of speed and was unable to negotiate a left turn in the road.
Fernandez-Rivera’s truck flipped on its side and slid off the road, hitting a utility pole, an embankment, and a tree. The truck came to a stop on its passenger side.
Life Lion medical helicopter transported Fernandez-Rivera to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
