One person was killed and three others injured in a crash early Monday morning on the Gold Star Highway in West Mahanoy Township.
According to information released by State Police in Frackville, the crash happened a little before 4:30 a.m. Monday on Route 924.
Police, according to their crash report, say Jenna Sallade, 18, of Mahanoy City, died in the crash. Three others were injured and taken to regional hospitals via medical helicopters.
The other victims of this crash are identified as:
- Zakary Kluchinsky, 18, of Frackville
- Jeffrey Livergood, 22, of Frackville
- Logan Payne, 18, of Frackville
Payne and Livergood were each taken the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with suspected serious injuries. Kluchinsky was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for injuries of an unknown severity, police report.
In the crash, a 1998 Honda Civic containing all 4 individuals was traveling south on the Gold Star Highway. The driver, who is not identified, lost control of the vehicle and hit an embankment on the west side of the road. That caused the vehicle to roll over multiple times, police say, and all 4 inside were ejected.
The vehicle came to a final rest on the median of Route 924, facing east.
Sallade was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
