The Indianapolis Colts have officially announced the hiring of Shane Steichen as their new head coach.
Steichen was previously the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles and has also served as an assistant coach for several other NFL teams.
The 37-year-old will be tasked with leading a Colts team that missed the playoffs last season, despite having a talented roster.
Steichen is known for his offensive expertise and his ability to develop young quarterbacks, which should bode well for the Colts as they look to build a championship-caliber team.
Steichen replaces former Colts head coach Frank Reich, who was fired during the 2022 season, and replaced by Colts former center Jeff Saturday. Reich was previously the Eagles offensive coordinator when they won Super Bowl LVII and then hired away by Indianapolis.
This move was the first on Tuesday that saw the Eagles lose a valuable coach. Jonathan Gannon was hired as the Arizona Cardinals head coach later in the day.
