Mahanoy City Police Arrest Fugitive Actually Named Mollie McGuire

Mahanoy City PD made a bit of a celebrity arrest on Tuesday.

Well, not really.

They reported on the department’s Facebook page that they learned where 27-year-old Mollie McGuire was and moved in for the arrest.

Of course, the spelling isn’t exactly the same as the infamous (or mythical) band of Irish immigrant miners who may or may not have committed acts of violence across northern Schuylkill County in the 1870s, including in Mahanoy City.

They were the Molly Maguires. But pretty weird, right?

On Tuesday, Mollie McGuire was picked up in Mahanoy City after she failed to report to Schuylkill County Prison on April 16 to being a 6-23 month sentence for reckless endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
