A Schuylkill County man will be cited for driving at an unsafe speed after he collided with a plow truck on Wednesday afternoon.
According to State Police in Frackville, Robert Ormiston, of Zion Grove, was driving north on Green Mountain Road in North Union Township Wednesday at around 5 p.m. At the same time, a township-owned plow truck driving by Kerry Houser, also of Zion Grove, was in the southbound lane.
At that time, snow from the nor’easter passing over Schuylkill County was starting to pile up on the roads in the area, creating hazardous or near impossible driving conditions.
As the two vehicles approached a curve in the road, Ormiston lost control of his 2006 Hummer, slid, and crashed into the plow truck. The Hummer had to be towed from the scene of the crash.
Ormiston complained of some pain following the incident and told police he’d take himself to seek medical treatment.
Houser did not report any injuries. Police say both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
