State Police in Schuylkill Haven have obtained a warrant for a Macungie man after he allegedly strangled an Auburn woman on July 5.
According to information made public Monday, police say 29-year-old Jose Rivera got into a domestic dispute with a 28-year-old Auburn woman in the early morning hours of July 5.
Police say the incident occurred around 2 a.m. along Route 61 in Deer Lake. During the altercation, police believe Rivera physically assaulted the Auburn woman by strangling her.
Rivera stole the woman’s phone and broke her eyeglasses during the incident. State Police arrived on the scene to assist the woman but Rivera got away.
