65% of Canary Readers Think Halcovage Should Resign as Commissioner
Several women in the Schuylkill County Courthouse say Commissioner George Halcovage is guilty of sexual harassment and verbal abuse.
An internal investigation into those allegations found that it’s “apparent” Halcovage did violate 3 different workplace policies.
However, Halcovage denies the allegations against him. And despite calls for him to resign his position as Schuylkill County Commissioner, it doesn’t appear Halcovage is going anywhere for now.
So, we asked our readers what they thought Halcovage should do.
We had nearly 150 people respond to our poll question and asked: Should George Halcovage resign as Schuylkill County Commissioner.
The results are a little surprising. It seems not everyone is ready to believe the accusers, at least right away. But a large majority of our readers do believe he should call it quits amid this controversy.
Here are the results of our survey:
- 65% think Halcovage should resign
- 17% of readers believe you’re innocent until proven guilty
- 14% say Halcovage shouldn’t quit
- 4% don’t know what he should do
