All 3 Schuylkill County teams in the District 11 baseball playoffs won Tuesday.
And each win set up local contests in the next round.
Class 5A
Pottsville Gets By Bangor, 5-1
The Crimson Tide took care of Bangor Area in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday. Pottsville scored early to take control. A pair of runs in the first inning followed by two more in the third was enough to handle the Slaters.
Pottsville’s win sets up a semifinal game with Schuylkill League champs Blue Mountain on Saturday. That game is schedule for 3 p.m. at Pine Grove. The winner gets a trip to Coca-Cola Park in Allentown for the District 11 championship.
Class 5A
Tri-Valley and Nativity Each Win, Meet in 1A Final
Top-seed Tri-Valley and #3 Nativity BVM each had no trouble dispatching their semifinal opponents in the semifinals of the 1A tournament.
Tri-Valley topped Lincoln Leadership 10-nawthin’. And Nativity took care of Salem Christian in the other semifinal, 8-0.
Those wins set up a local championship for the District 11 Class 1A title. The Bulldogs and Hilltoppers meet on Friday in Pine Grove at 7 p.m.
