A Schuylkill County man was one of two people killed in an Easter morning crash on a South Carolina interstate.
According to Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford, 62-year-old Mark McCormick, of Orwigsburg, died on April 5 in what’s being reported as a wrong-way collision on Interstate 77 there.
A Toyota SUV was heading north on I-77 at about 4 a.m. on Easter when it collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck that was going south in the northbound lane, according to a report from WLTX-TV. Authorities have not said who was driving either vehicle at the time of the crash.
Also killed in the incident was 26-year-old William Vazquez-Hernandez, of Lexington, South Carolina.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
