Schuylkill County LEGO Thief Charged; Suspect Also Charged with Boosting Nesquik, Cigs

Polly now facing fourth retail theft charge

Police have charged a Schuylkill County woman for the alleged theft of numerous LEGO sets from a local Dollar General late last year. And it’s the same woman police have charged with the theft of numerous Nesquik drinks and cartons of cigarettes in the last couple months.

Charges were filed in District Court in Port Carbon recently against Jessica Polly, 35, of Tuscarora, after she was identified as the suspect who walked into a Dollar General in Schuylkill Township on Dec. 29 and walked out with a cart full of merchandise, mostly toys.

Polly has been charged with retail theft in connection with the incident. She’s also facing three retail theft charges after police say she walked into a Turkey Hill store in Hometown on three separate occasions and walked out with unpaid merchandise, mostly Nesquik drinks and cigarettes.

Police say they were able to track Polly down to a residence in Tuscarora on Feb. 4. When they knocked on the door at the place Polly was staying, she reportedly knew police were there for her and she acknowledged to Troopers that they were there to talk about “the Dollar General.”

During an interview, Polly allegedly admitted that she stole from Dollar General for her children to give them Christmas presents. She reportedly told police she remembered taking about 10 LEGO sets and some food and drink.

Polly, police say, walked into Dollar General with another woman on Dec. 29. As the other woman paid for items at the register, Polly was busy filling a cart with the following items:

  • 4 Pokemon LEGO sets (valued at $106)
  • 10 Pokemon balls ($105)
  • 13 Pokemon items ($130)
  • 2 Marvel LEGO sets ($40)
  • 2 Sonic LEGO sets ($40)
  • 5 Star Wars LEGO sets ($100)
  • 4 Luke Skywalker LEGO sets ($80)
  • 6 Ninja LEGO sets ($120)
  • 3 Minecraft LEGO sets ($60)

In addition to those items, Polly also allegedly grabbed a laundry basket and a bag of donuts. Dollar General told police the items Polly took totaled $798.60.
