A Schuylkill County man turned up more than four hours late for his sentencing in four different cases last week.
After Schuylkill County Judge Christina Hale issued four bench warrants for his arrest, Travis Beam, 63, of Frackville, showed up at the Courthouse several hours later.
According to District Attorney Mike O’Pake, Beam showed up close to 1:30 p.m. Friday. He was scheduled to be sentenced in four cases at 9 a.m.
Beam’s attorney, Public Defender Ashley Sabol, told Hale, “He’s well aware of the time and the place” at the time of his scheduled sentencing. She said he was informed at a court appearance just two days prior.
After Beam showed up late, he was taken into custody and was being held at Schuylkill County Prison awaiting sentencing. A sentencing date has not been rescheduled.
Hale was scheduled to sentence Beam on three counts of possessing a controlled substance, possessing marijuana, two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia, driving with a BAC of 0.02% while driving on suspended licese, and two more counts of driving on a suspended license.
