Police in Pottsville say they’re continuing to investigate a crash that occurred Monday afternoon in the city.
According to information released by Pottsville Bureau of Police, the two-vehicle crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. in the 2200 block of W. Market St. At that time, a 2017 Toyota Rav4 driven by Hoang Nguyen, 39, of Minersville, attempted a left turn into the Hadesty’s parking lot.
At the same time, a 2004 Honda Civic operated by a 19-year-old Pottsville man (police did not identify this driver) was headed westbound. Nguyen’s vehicle turned into the path of the Civic and the vehicles collided. Police say the Civic’s headlights were not on at the time, despite it raining.
The driver of the Civic was evaluated by EMS at the scene and later visited Lehigh Valley Hospital-East in Pottsville for further treatment. Nguyen and his 12-year-old passenger were uninjured in the crash.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage as a result of teh crash.
Minersville Police and Pottsville Fire Dept. assisted Pottsville Police at the scene.
