A Schuylkill County man was sentenced to 8-16 years in state prison Thursday morning for possessing numerous files containing child pornography.
Robert Troutman, 58, of Schuylkill Haven, entered a guilty plea on 25 of the 52 counts of possessing child pornography. He had originally been charged with 52 counts as well as one count of criminal use of a communication facility. Twenty-eight of the original charges were dropped in exchange for the guilty plea. All charges were felonies.
Troutman was sentenced in Courtroom 3 at Schuylkill County Courthouse before Judge William Burke on Thursday.
Charges against Troutman were originally filed back in December 2024. Investigators with the state’s Attorney General’s Office executed a search warrant on Troutman’s Schuylkill Haven home and on several electronic devices, they discovered at least 52 illicit images involving children.
