A Schuylkill County man was jailed over the weekend after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home half-naked, got spooked, and was later seen grinding on a plastic kids’ slide.
Police in Pottsville say they were called to a home in the 200 block of Howard Ave. at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday for a reported breaking-and-entering incident. Officers at the scene spoke to a woman who said a man later identified as 26-year-old Tajie Dejesus, of Cressona, broke into her home through an unlocked window. She told police she had no idea who Dejesus was but that he was only wearing a T-shirt at the time.
After the woman confronted Dejesus and said she was calling the police, he reportedly fled the home and while officers were canvassing the area, they received reports of a half-naked man in the 400 block of Howard Ave. A resident there said Dejesus was rubbing his genitals on a slide in their yard.
Dejesus was taken into custody without incident, police say, and at that time, they say they detected the smell of alcohol. Police say Dejesus admitted to them that he was highly intoxicated.
Dejesus’ actions were captured on body-worn cameras, police say.
Before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker later Saturday morning, Dejesus was charged with felony counts of burglary and criminal trespass as well as a misdemeanor count of open lewdness and a summary offense for public drunkenness. Kilker set bail at $100,000 and remanded Dejesus to Schuylkill County Prison.
A preliminary hearing before Judge James Reiley is scheduled for July 27.
